Life Wih Spencer

Life with the new little one is fun and exciting. We have been having some interesting times for the last week and a half.

First of all last tuesday, Three days after he was born we went and saw the doctor and he was circumcised. So that night and the whole next day he was screaming everytime he peed and pooped and when i changed his diaper. He hardly slept and was constantly wanted to eat So i was tired and sore from him. But i did have some infant Ibprofen that i gave to him that i didnt have to give anymore after about midnight the night of his screaming.

Breastfeeding has been interesting and hard. But we have been successful wich i am greatful for. I even have some extra that i have been pumping off once and a while for when we want to go somewhere and have someone watch him and also for when the first time he gets sick because apparently this first milk has the most antibodies. I pumped some and stuck it in the freezer in a bag until then.

He sleeps about 3 to 4 hours then eats and change his diaper sometimes we have to change his diaper a couple times. Some people say it smells bad. actually i barely even smell it. Its what it looks like that makes it so gross. Its like a mustard consistancy. Its gross. I swear he poops like 50 times a day.

Also minday we had a nurse come and check on how he was doing and i. She weighed him and he weighed 8lbs 9oz. He has gained almost a whole pound since he was born. What a pig!!! He no longer wears neborn diapers because they just dont hold his loads. so we have him in ones. He wore newborns for a week. My baby is growing so fast.

The otherday when i was up with him in the middle of the night. I was looking at him and noticed that his cheeks were chubbier and he was getting longer. I was freaking out cause this wasnt what my baby looks like, not yet. Its too soon. Wow dont the hormones really go crazy after you give birth, The last week has been a roller coaster. One minute ill be on top of the world then the next ill be crying my eyes out. But only a couple times i actually was thinking negative thoughts. Then i just put him down or gave him to william and walked away for a few and i was fine.

So all is good. Having fun playing and learning from my baby.

New Baby Boy!

At approximately 8:45pm December 19th, the water broke. William rushed to gather everything together for the trip and stay at the hospital while I sat on the commode while my amniotic fluid drained. The drive to the hospital was a slow one as we have recently received three feet of snow. We arrived at about 10:00. Upon arriving we were admitted immediately and settled in. Kaytie was put on pitosin to encourage the contractions and at about 3:30 the epidural was administered and we were able to get some sleep. The baby seemed anxious to come out, but we wanted our doctor to be here to deliver him instead of the on-call doc. Within thirty minuted of the doctor getting here Spencer Carter Bouvier was given the gift of life. Weighing in at 7lbs 13oz and measuring 20in long! He was a natural at breast-feeding and has great lungs. This is the greatest event in our lives, overshadowing even the day were married in some ways. Baby and mommy are relaxing and doing great.

These are pictures of the crazy snow we got today! We couldnt find our car at first. the gas tank is not ours it was the guy snow blowing the sidewalks. This snow storm started yesterday morning and is still continuing today at 2 pm. with more snow yet to come. We are gonna get more sunday too. I have put myself pretty much on bed rest for today especially because we cannot get out and no one can get to us... and we are in the city. William still had to go to work on the south hill, the worst part of all of it. I dont know why... but he shouldnt be out there. He had to have a co worker come and get him cause there is no way our car would make it out of the parking lot let alone the parking spot.

So i am not gonna do anything to help me go into labor. But if i do im gonna call an ambulance to come and take me to the hospital cause there is no way otherwise.

I am now 39 weeks pregnant. We had a doctors appointment today. No change in dialation still a centimeter and a half. I am more effaced though and my cervix is soft. No more weight gain either. I still have another appointment scheduled for Christmas eve to see where im at.

I haven't had any contractions or anything for a couple weeks. If i don't go into labor by the 28th. I get to go in and get induced that night and have the baby the next night.

The baby shower has been set for early January sometime. Invitations will be sent out to those close.

SO it one week till my due date.... still pregnant! When i went in last week i was still dialated to a centimeter and a half but my cervix was soft. I have an appointment tomorrow to see where im at again.

I think the baby may have moved down more and turned. But i could be wrong. I was feeling the baby moving yesterday down in my bottom. It hurt and felt weird. haven't felt it again since cause the baby has been asleep or i have been. Also the baby has strong legs. It will push on my ribs then slip off and go in another direction. Its weird to feel. I know i say everything is weird but i don't know how else to describe the feeling. Then when i sit cross legged with my tummy in my lap. sometimes the baby move and its like the baby is actually laying in my lap.

We went and got us a digital camera for the big day. It is a nice camera. It was less than a hundred and it came with an SD card and focuses on faces and adjusts.

This is me 36 and a half weeks pregnant. Talk about the baby being low in my pelvis and big. dont look big when i look down but when i turn sideways and look in the mirror or in pictures i feel huge.

So alot has happened since the laast time i blogged. I have lost my mucus plug and have been having contractions. but they are only the braxton hicks ones. Yesterday i woke up and went straight to cleaning my kitchen spotless and i did laundry and then i baked some cookies. i had to stop after that because i had some contractions and i knew i needed to rest. they lasted for about and hour or so then stopped and were hard to time as well. All i was getting was a constant pain in my lower back then a randon intervals a feeling of my uterus was squeezing. Not alot of them were seperate. So it was hard to time or tell apart. If the real thing is like this for me im gonna have a hard time know ing when to go to the hospital. So i have an appointment tomorrow. hopefully my doctor will tell me that im effaced or something because he started the process alot more last time. so we will have to see.
